The Head of Poltava Regional State Administration Valeriy Golovko told about the call-center “ATOL”. In his point of view, it is an example of international cooperation that helps those who need it most.

We would remind you that on the 4th of September in Poltava was opened «ATOL» – the call-center for ATO participants, front-line volunteers, internal migrants and their families.

One of the project’s partners, who joined the call-center creation at the stage of idea, is the Head of the Poltava Regional State Administration Valeriy Golovko.

According to the press service of Poltava Regional State Administration the Head convinced that this project is necessary to Poltava for two reasons. First one is a long-term cooperation between Ukraine and Lithuania – a country that supports our state very much. Second one is a very important social project for our region, the more it is the first one in Ukraine. In Poltava there are lot of front-line volunteers, internal migrants affected by the fighting in the east, ATO participants who came back home, people who looked death in the face:

– The “ATOL” project serves as a companion and helper for those residents of Poltava region who were affected by the war. We can’t leave them alone and have to hear out the problems of these people. This Lithuanian-Ukrainian call-center helps us to do that. It is important that we didn’t spend time inventing something new but we used previous experience of European countries, adapted it to Ukraine and applied it in the Poltava region.

The Head of Poltava Regional State Administration also pleased with the fact that caring Poltava citizens are joining to this important project:

– Volunteers of the call-center already work and receive calls. Of course, it is morally hard work, but it is the way we can hear people in need of emotional support. I hope that “ATOL” will become a high-performance center, which we will be proud of for the whole Ukraine, and Poltava experience become useful to the other regions.

We have to mention that the free line to contact this call-center is 0-800-20-30-20 (for the moment it is available from 17:00 to 23:00, but later on the line will work around the clock).

Note: The “ATOL” is a result of collaboration of ministries of Lithuania (Environmental protection, Foreign Affairs, Internal Affairs and Police Department under the Ministry of the Internal Affairs) and the “Union 1219” Foundation, whose founder, Voldimaras Azhubalis lives in Poltava. The project is funded by the Program of cooperation and promotion of democracy under the patronage of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania (Orange projects).
